The ASP Ultra Cuffs made of aluminum already set a new standard in terms of design, technology, properties and application of restraints. Now the Ultra Plus handcuffs raise the bar even further because they have an important new feature: keyless double locking. Double locking - a critical step in ensuring both personal and officer safety - is achieved simply and instantly by squeezing the double locking bar with a fingertip. The bar is color-coded and allows for quick visual status recognition: Once the handcuffs are on and adjusted, press the bar. And since a key is no longer needed while putting on the handcuffs, it is even safer for everyone involved.

Apart from the revolutionary keyless double locking, the "Plus Cuffs" have the same features that make the ASP Ultra Cuffs the non plus ultra among handcuffs:

Forged aluminum frame: Forged from weapons-grade 7075 T6 aluminum, the Ultra Cuffs frames are stiff and incredibly strong, yet lightweight. Forging - unlike the stamped steel parts of other restraints - also avoids rough or sharp edges; the smooth, rounded Ultra Cuff frame is more ergonomic and safer for the officer and the person being restrained.
The temple's geometry adapts to a wider range of wrists, and the flat contact surface improves application speed and accuracy. The temples are also strongly rounded to avoid injuries. Ultra Cuffs are available with either steel or aluminum brackets to further reduce strain.

Double-sided, unidirectionally rotating keyways: Ultra Cuffs feature key grooves on both sides of each frame, and both the primary lock and dual lock are released by turning the key in one direction. Double locks can be unlocked and re-locked with the key without releasing the cuff bars, allowing for secure and easy adjustment. All of these features make putting on and removing the cuffs quicker and easier.

Interchangeable lock sets: The locks are uniform and interchangeable. This allows them to be serviced in the field if required and offers the unique ability to swap locksets to suit different agencies' preferences or move to a high security configuration.
